Antioch Baptist Church was established in the year of 1941. The church started with 4 members in a society hall under the leadership of Rev. Ed Smith. Our first church was built in 1942. The church purchased property for $1,600.00 in 1961 and built our second church in 1962. The founding Pastors that paved the way for us to be such a strong church and for us to still be standing today are Rev. Ed Smith, Rev. Willie Smith, Rev. Leonard Smith, Rev. E. B. Robertson, Bishop Eugene Harris, Rev. Robert Gross, and Pastor George Spears.
We’ve had our ups and downs but we knew God did not bring us this far to leave us. Better days were ahead of us and we were standing firm on what we believed.
Through God’s divine plan and purpose, Pastor Gregory Cooper Sr. was sent to us as Pastor in April 1991. In September of that same year he was officially installed as Pastor of Antioch Baptist church. Under his firm yet gentle leadership we completed and we able to march into our new sanctuary that year. By the power of God and faithful and committed members our third church was paid off in 1997. Antioch Baptist Church became Antioch, A Full Gospel Baptist Church in April of 2005.
Here we are 78 years later, still standing strong, a thriving congregation of men, women, and children that have come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord. We are yet excited and passionate about God and His way of doing things. Thanking God for our Ministerial Staff and every Leader that lead by example. We give Him all the glory, honor, and praise for the people of God, every auxillary and or ministry that was birth in this church and are still active and serving the people of God.
We are still in the midst of a good time as we praise our King and put all of our trust in our Lord and Savior right here every Sunday with a 7:00 a.m. service and a 9:00 a.m. service. We have Life Study on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. either live or remote. We have our Victory prayer call on Tuesday mornings at 6:00 a.m. and Intercessory Prayer on Saturdays at 9:00 a.m.
This year has been declared as “Our Winning Season” and we decree that everything attached to us wins. We are purposing in our hearts to be great stewards over that in which God has blessed us with and to remain true to God and His way of doing things. To God be the Glory for the things He has done and for using Bishop Gregory Cooper Sr. to lead us into the promises, as God show Himself strong and mighty in the lives of the believers.
Antioch, this is our WINNING season, Great and Mighty is our God.
